Flexible Schedule

Our clients expect us to be the best, so expectations of performance in this position are high. The following is a brief overview of what is expected in this position:
Listening Skills
listening skills are the top skill set of this position. We do not 'hard sell' our clients. We are only there to give them what they need and desire. If we are not the best solution for them, we tell them that. Otherwise we listen to their needs; we do not tell them their needs.

It is expected that you will make time and financial investments in your own education and opportunities to provide service that exceeds your client's expectations.
Time Management and Self-Promotion
Due to the nature of the position, you often operate to some extent as 'self-employed". Your time is not micromanaged and you are responsible for communicating in a timely and efficient manner with our clients and your co-workers. You will need to self-promote yourself through a Personal Marketing Plan, created with Sales Management. While the company provides a number of leads from marketing efforts and brand recognition, it is expected that Sales & Design Consultants bring in a portion of their business through referral business and networking efforts.
Organization
It is critical that Sales & Design Consultants are organized in their paperwork and client files. We use a Pawling Closet Company exclusive client database and 3dCAD program. You are responsible for accurately creating designs and communicating those designs with the production part of our business. Through clear, concise drawings and communication, we deliver our customer's expectations accurately.
Design Skill
This is a sales position which requires spatial concepts and the ability to create a beautiful end result for our clients. We design entertainment centers, offices, bookshelves, craft rooms, and many other spaces that are visible within a home or office. It is critical that function is the # 1 priority with design in our business, with aesthetically pleasing details.
Travel
There is a lot of driving in this position, as we visit clients at their location. Travel could be anywhere within 0-1 hours per appointment. You will need a well-maintained vehicle for this position.
